When working with clients, we have the capabilities and resources to carry out regular and routine maintenance work alongside more bespoke projects. This was the case for a recent project with one of our longstanding clients, one of Scotland’s leading mechanical engineering firms, who required urgent support in countering the impact of corrosion.

When tackling wellbore clogging, historically, operators have turned to longstanding chemical and mechanical methods. However, these existing techniques are facing scrutiny over inefficiencies, limitations, and the negative environmental impact they cause. As the industry evolves, we are driving towards more advanced and long-term sustainable solutions which align with operational goals and environmental responsibilities.

Thanks to an established relationship and a track record of accomplishment, the Pipetech team was called into action for urgent mobilisation on behalf of a Norwegian oil and gas operator.

Pipetech mobilised to clean and treat a gas import riser which could not be cleaned by conventional methods due to the line configuration and platform layout.

Using Aqua Milling®, the specialist nozzles and rotational hose negotiated 6 bends to 140mtr depth at 950Barg working pressure.

Using Pipetech's unique Aqua Milling® System, a 20” overboard blocked sea dump line was successfully cleaned returning to its intended free flowing state.

Pipetech was tasked to clear a suspected blockage inside a riser on an offshore installation. Access was to be via the pig launcher door and negotiate round a “Y” junction into the riser.

A leading oil field services provider approached Pipetech to provide a solution to remove problematic corrosion product inside sounding lines which lead into ballast tanks on board FPF-1 . Other attempts with traditional methods, by others had proven unsuccessful. The corrosion was restricting the inner diameter, which were, some cases, blocked.

Pipetech were tasked to AquaMill® a blocked 3 1⁄2” diameter drill pipe that had been blocked with set cement. Total length of blockage was 10 meters.

Pipetech mobilised to the Preem refinery to clean a total of 10km of pipework.

Pipetech were tasked to AquaMill® 21 flexible small bore pipes ranging from 1.315” to 1.66” internal diameter. Total length of each pipe was 10 meters.

Pipetech were approached to assist with the cleaning of Glycol heat exchanger onshore. The job was performed at our facility in Stavanger.

Pipetech mobilised, in just three days, to clean a 2” MEG service line, with a gel plug.

Pipetech were tasked to unblock and descale the 18” produced water caisson on BLP platform Britannia.

Using the Aqua Milling® system with polishing and cutting nozzles negotiating a 2” nozzle and 90deg bend to a total reach of 40 metres.

Pipetech mobilised to Judy to unblock a 6” outfall line which could not be reached by conventional methods due to the pipework length and bend configuration.

A requirement to quickly clean a heat exchange bundle remotely with no potential to harm individuals or any of the inner tubes.

In May 2016 Pipetech were delivering a range of topside cleaning solutions on Snorre B fpv under a frame agreement with a major Operator.

Pipetech was approached by CNRI UK to perform high pressure Aqua Milling cleaning of its 12” Lyell Riser on the Ninian South platform prior to UT inspection.
